Usi della forma in -ing, verbi ed espressioni

La forma in -ing, o gerundio, segue i costrutti composti da verbi + preposizione e quelli composti da il verbo to Be + aggettivo e preposizione. Ci sono poi dei verbi e delle espressioni particolari che sono sempre seguiti dalla forma -ing.
Info 1: Verbi + preposizione + gerundio
Ecco una lista dei verbi + preposizione seguiti dalla forma -ing. Per rendere il gerundio negativo, basta farlo precedere dal not.

Nota bene: Admit può essere seguito da that + frase dichiarativa.

Info 2: Be + aggettivo + preposizione + gerundio

Nota bene: Per indicare un cambiamento progressivo, si può usare to Get al posto di to Be.

Info 3: Altri verbi + gerundio
I verbi riportati in tabella sono seguiti dal gerundio quando il soggetto della principale è uguale a quello della subordinata.
