Info adicional 1: Otras maneras de llamar a los familiares

Puedes decir mum en vez de mother, o dad en vez de father. Si hablas con amigos, puedes usar bro y sis, en vez de brother y sister. Igual con granny, aunty, etc. Estas formas son más informales, pero también expresan un mayor grado de cercanía y cariño.
